Composers become immortal when their works continue to be played and celebrated long after they are gone. Music is timeless, and composers are compelled to create works that can live for generations to come! The spirit of the composer comes back to inspire, motivate and engage each time we hear their works. Composers of our time hope to someday join the ranks of the great immortals, creating compositions that can transcend modern day and live long into the future!

The 2018 BMTG Intercontinental Piano Competition's mission is to promote the music of the great immortals, as well as the great composers of present day. Music knows no borders, and the suggested repertoire is from a diverse group of composers from across the globe, encompassing six continents! As a teaching organization, BMTG is committed to promoting the highest standards in performance and pedagogy. This competition will introduce new repertoire to performers of all ages, and the two rounds of the event will challenge the contestants to demonstrate their knowledge of different styles and learn pieces created by new contemporary composers.
